I am praying that my family wins this beautiful home. My husband has worked hard to provide for our family, and it seems like an up hill battle. I’m sure it’s like that for most families, but I have been very sick for a long time, and my husband has kept going. He is the rock in our family, no matter what the situation, he keeps us all going. I thank GOD for my husband every day, and I just pray and hope that we are chosen for the HGTV Home.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE PICK MY FAMILY FOR THIS GREAT HOME GIVEAWAY.

hello, i think everyone wants it, ive sent in 500 entries by mail and entered every day. But the reality is 99% of all winners wont be able to keep it. You need to net 250k a year to even maintain this house. The bill to the IRS is 900k on the property and winnings. So a bank will give that against the house so your monehly payment with property tax and insurance is 10k per month , then add 750 monthly community fee to maintain the community center. Plus food, gas, heating in the cold cold winters is expensive. so 250k per year to live in a town of 750 people would be a fantasy for sure. I sit here with my cup of coffee and dream about things like this. But the real winner of the deal is selling it paying off the irs and all your other bills and still having a coll million left over to start a new life with.

Why I would love to win this home is because my husband and I have been married for 32 1/2 years, and have lived in the same house since the day we married on the 29th of June 1974. Our house was built in 1925, and was worth $2000.00 when we got it, and it had 1 bedroom, no inside plumbing except a small sink in the kitchen and we used an outside toilet till Sept. 1982, when we finally could finish our bathroom in this house, and get it hooked up on city sewer. I potty trained 3 children without a bathroom. We also found out that on the 16th of Dec. 1987, my 32nd birthday, that I was diagnosed with Grade II, Chondrosarcoma Bone Cancer. I had two major surgeries to which, the last one saved my life, but I had to learn how to walk all over again, for they had to replace the right femur in my leg, and that took almost 2 yrs. to learn to walk all over again. We were foster parents for 5 yrs. to over 130 foster children, to which we adopted a 17 yr. old girl, just 6 months shy of her 18th birthday. I would love to win this house, because ours is very old and I would love for my husband to whom is my world, and has been on the same job for 29 1/2 yrs. to be able to retire from his job and have a place to call a wonderful home. God has been good to us, but our life would really be fulfilled to have a larger home for our 4 children and our 8 grandchildren to all be able to visit us all at one time during holidays. We love to travel and would love to relocate to a brand new home that would be our own. Your doing a wonderful job HGTV. Keep up the great work. We love ya !!!!

Hello, I havent heard anything yet, so that means I still get to hold on to the Faith that God said needs only to be the size of a MUSTARD SEED !! I would consider this home not a Dream come true but a Blessing from God. And if HGTV doesn’t see my family of 7, who in fact live in a two bedroom mobile home, should be the winner. I pray that the home will be a Blessing for another family !
I will continue to count my blessings and be grateful for, the priveledge to know that in spite of all that my five children and Disabled husband don’t have, we have Jesus Christ and each other !! I hope we can all continue to pray for our Troops and Victims who have lost a home due to the hurricanes, as well as that have lost a loved one. May God continue to BLESS you HGTV !! Sincerely, Angela Spann

About 7 years ago I lost my dreams of owning my own holistic spa business and owning my own home. I was living in virginia and had to move to connecticut to take care of my 5 grandchildren. I’ve been here ever since, At 55, I probably will never have that chance again unless I win this home. I’ve never won anything before but I’ll never give up hope. I need this home for my grandchildren. They need to live in a more healthier enviorment and I need to recover my dream and bring peace of mind and tranquility in to my life again. This beautiful home will make this family very happy and this home need a family in it………bless you and thank you…..

I am a divorced mother of two and have raised two children. I have always lived in a Section 8 apartment and never owned my own home as a divorced woman. Now that they have flown the nest I would like to have my own home and foster children. I would like to give someone else a chance of a better life including myself. I cannot foster these children until I find a place for them to live. Under section 8 I have to live in a one bedroom apartment. In order to give someone else a better chance at life it would be an answer to a prayer to have a home to move into. It would be a God given blessing.
Thank you and God bless!

We have been married for 48 years and have always had to work very hard to raise our 4 children. We never got to take our children on hardly any vacations so it would be a wonderful blessing to have a home like this to share with them and our 13 grand children. We live in a cold climate so the warm weather sounds like a wonderful change. I WORK AT A VETERANS HOME so it is easy to be thankful for our troops fighting now and in the past for the freedom we all enjoy. I will be anxiously waiting to see if I WIN. Thank you for this opportunity. Mary

My sisters and I were raised in the central states but we all love the beauty of the ocean. We are blessed that one of our sisters has been able to own a condo in Myrtle Beach and we have been able to enjoy the beaches while visiting there. My parents vacatioed in Myrtle Beach for years during their retirement until they could not travel. I particulary love the beach but I have stayed in Central Illinois to care for my parents who are now both in their 80’s. I would love to win this home. If I won this house I would pack up my parents and off we would go. I buy homes and fix them up to resell and I get most of my wonderful ideas from HGTV. Thank you for your help!!!!!!
44.
Martha Harris | January 13, 2008 at 6:27 pm
We are senior citizens. We own our little country home. We would not know the feeling of living in something so beautiful and opulent. We would certainly appreciate it, and take care of it., but it is probably not God’s will for us to know this. I think it is so great of you to offer this deal.

Whom ever is the winner my they enjoy this home in good health with many memories and happiness for many years to come. Money can buy everything but health ,happiness and love. so let these three things be brought into the new home good luck to all
47.
Grace | January 16, 2008 at 7:25 pm
Please read the rules and you will see that if you win the home, the winner is responsible for the real estate taxes, home owners insurance, and maintenance that is required of this very expensive home. If an ordinary middle income family were to win this home they would not be able to keep it due to the enormous financial responsbility that comes along with the value of this home. I read a while back that one of the previous winners had to give up their home because they were not able to pay for the taxes alone. Personally I think HGTV should do several homes amounting to the amount they’re actually spending for just one very expensive home. In turn, the winners would be able to benefit of owning a new home with affordable taxes, insurance, etc.
48.
Kim Cain | January 17, 2008 at 6:34 pm
I have no really good reason for thinking I should win. Just that the 2008 hgtv home is beautiful, as all of them have been, and it would be anyones dream to have something like this. You have made several families happy each year and my hats off to you.

THERE IS A DESERVING FAMILY IN NEED OF THIS HOME.
THEY WERE TOLD THEY MUST MOVE AWAY FROM THE COLD ASAP DUE TO SEVERE HEALTH CONDITIONS. THE
FAMILY LOST TOO MANY YEARS OF THEIR LIVES TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER THROUGH SICKNESSES MORE THAN
ANYONE SHOULD GO THROUGH.
THIS HOME WOULD BE MORE THAN A DREAM, IT WOULD GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO SURVIVE, THRIVE, AND GIVE
THEM A QUALITY OF LIFE THEY HAVEN’T KNOWS IN YEARS.
THIS WOULD BE MORE THAN A DREAM – IT WOULD BE A CHANCE TO GET WELL AND SO MUCH MORE. THIS WOULD BE A CHANCE FOR A LIFE FOR THEM FOR SO MANY YEARS HAD BEEN TAKEN AWAY.
THE CONTEST DID NOT REQUEST DETAILS OF WHY THE
PEOPLE WERE APPLYING AND I DON’T WANT TO VIOLATE
THEIR PRIVACY. THIS HOME IS ON “THE SECRET” WISH
BOARD PER MOVIE.
GOOD LUCK TO WHOEVER IS FORTUNATE TO WIN!
YOUR SHOW IS OUTSTANDING AND HOW WONDERFUL TO HAVE SO MANY GIVEAWAYS!

Hi, I hope this is the way to enter. I think my family deserves a shot at this home because….I lost my first husband to suicide, he left me with 4 kids. I have remarried to a wonderful man that helps me raise them and makes great sacrifices for us. In December my 5 yr old was diagnosed with Leukemia and we are renting a house and not sure if we will ever be able to buy one with all these bills. Thank you for reading, even if we don’t win. ~Melissa

My husband would like to retire soon, having a new house would help the process go much faster. The one we live in needs too much time & money put into it. He has worked since he was 15 years old helping his family out, now he will be 57 soon, although that is not old but he has never been able to have a life without a full time job to go to. I pray daily for finding a way to help him get to retirement.

I just want to say that each and every house that hgtv has given away has been some of the most incredibly beautiful homes that I have seen, And other then it being a dream come true to own one,
and to be house payment free, It would be a pure pleasure to live in a professionally desinged home. completed, finished, all yours to just sit back and enjoy, that would be wonderful. I sure hope that this is the way you enter to win : ) and Good Luck to everyone

What a lovely home. We bought our home about three years ago. When property values plummeted, our home dropped in value and we now owe twice what we could sell it for in this economy. I know there are several giveaway “hopefuls” who are in the same canoe with us. I hope that the person who wins this amazing prize enjoys it. Personally, I am hoping a member of our own family wins, because I am ready to sleep in the master bedroom, or at the very least, the guest room.
